I am a registered psychotherapist with a Master’s from Naropa University. I’ve lived in Colorado my entire life, and Leroy has been with me for 4 years. I started my clinical experience with The Blue Bench, a comprehensive sexual assault treatment center based in Denver. Moving forward, I joined Thrive Counseling, another counseling practice in Denver, and stayed with them for a few years before founding my own private practice. I started helping people through professional avenues when I was just 16 years old, and always knew I wanted to be a therapist. I am deeply passionate about the professional practice of being openly compassionate with people who need it, and found my penchant for bringing people to the present to be conducive to healing & recovery.

The office building is located in central Denver at 1-25 and Colorado blvd. The building is safe, with round the clock security and easy-to-find parking. The main waiting room, in a suite on the 11th floor, is cozy and calming with soft music, water + tea, and assorted reading. My office offers comfortable seating, low lighting, and a towering West view of Denver and the mountains. Leroy, the Black Dog himself, is reliably here to console or be a companion on your journey as needed.

Black Dog Therapy is a name with a double meaning. It primarily represents my healing companion, Leroy, as he has consistently been recognized by clients as a warm, calming, and comforting presence in my sessions. He embodies my philosophy of sit, stay, and heal. However, the name is also evocative of a symbol in historical literature called the “black dog”, a nickname Samuel Johnson coined and Winston Churchill made famous as a representation of their depression. This long-form suffering, an ailment of even great figures in history, is an ideal example of the sort of ailment I alleviate through my practice.
